Few artists can claim to have created an entire new genre within their community, but Korea’s Nam June Paik is amongst those. As the originator of media art, he was a key contributor to the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games programme and his work is featured in the PyeongChang 2018 cultural programme. Within Olympic Plaza, Paik’s work features within the Culture-ICT Pavilion, which includes a remarkable exhibition, showcase of his work, and many examples of the latest creative media innovations, including virtual reality simulators.
It’s well worth checking out this and best to do it after the Medals Plaza ceremonies, as it gets very busy during the day.
